Notice to the Public – Request for Municipal Support Confirmation
The Township of South-West Oxford has received a Request for Municipal Support Confirmation from Prowind Renewables Inc. for the proposed Bower Hill Wind Project.
On June 17, 2025, Council passed a resolution declaring the Township an “Unwilling Host” for wind projects under the current provincial procurement framework. Despite this resolution, Prowind had not formally requested a Municipal Support Confirmation which is a requirement under the IESO and are therefore proceeding with the submission. In support of transparency and public trust, the Township is making this request publicly available.
A copy of the proponent’s request is posted below for public information. Council will address the matter at its meeting scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Mount Elgin Community Centre.
