NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR APPLICATION NO. A11-2025

The Township of South-West Oxford Committee of Adjustment has received an application for Minor Variance or for permission from:

and will consider the application at a Public Hearing to be held:

Council and staff continue to provide residents with the option to provide written comments via email to planning@oxfordcounty.ca. Comments may also be submitted in writing (mail or drop box to the Municipal Office) or over the phone by calling 519-485-0477 ext. 7023. All written and verbal comments received will be summarized out loud for the Committee of Adjustment’s consideration. Comments received will become part of the public agenda.

 

If you would like to participate in the public meeting via web or teleconference, we ask that you please register your attendance ahead of time by calling the Municipal Office at 519-485-0477 ext. 7023 or contacting the Clerk’s office at clerk@swox.org by 4:30 p.m. on Friday, August 8th, 2025.  You will be provided with details to participate electronically in the Committee of Adjustment Hearing on August 12th, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. when this application will be considered by the Committee.

 

Nature and Extent of Relief Applied for:

 

Relief is requested from the following provisions of the Township of South-West Oxford Zoning By-law No. 25-98 to facilitate the construction of a new detached 114.5 m2 (1,232 ft2) accessory structure (garage) on the subject property:

 

  1. Relief from Section 6.1.1.3. – Table 6.1.1.3. – Regulations for Accessory Uses, to increase the maximum permitted height from 5 m (16.4 ft) to 6.1 m (20 ft); and,

  2. Relief from Section 6.1.1.3. – Table 6.1.1.3. – Regulations for Accessory Uses, to increase the maximum permitted lot coverage from 100 m2 (1,076 ft2) to 114.5 m2 (1,232 ft2).

The subject property is legally described as CON BF PT LOT 15 PLAN 538 LOT 38; SOUTH-WEST OXFORD and is municipally known as 354480 Mill Line. A sketch plan showing the location of the property is attached

If you wish to be notified of the Decision of the Committee of Adjustment in respect of this application, you must submit a written request to the Committee of Adjustment.

Only specified persons, public bodies, registered owners of land to which the by-law may apply, the applicant to amend the by-law and the Minister may appeal the decision of the Township of South-West Oxford to the Ontario Land Tribunal. No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the by-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the council or, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. Third party appeals are not permitted. No appeals may be made in regard to additional residential unit policies, with exception of the Minister.
