For Immediate Release:

The Township of South-West Oxford approved their new 2023 to 2026 Strategic Plan.

The Council of The Township of South-West Oxford approved its new Strategic Plan for the 2023 to 2026 term. This plan includes values and aspirations which aim to address the priorities of the residents of South-West Oxford.

“On behalf of South-West Oxford Council, I would like to thank everyone who participated in creating our community’s strategic plan, especially the citizens who shared their vision and hope for our collective future. The community told Council that they wanted a connected, compassionate, and engaged community that was healthy and active. People want to feel safe and secure in a thriving and sustainable environment. Community members want governance that is transparent and trustworthy. Council appreciates and willingly accepts these challenges and is committed to leading South-West Oxford forward to achieve our shared vision of being ‘a welcoming, safe and inclusive rural community for life’,” said Mayor David Mayberry.

As a part of the plan, new vision and mission statements were developed based on the following strategic priority areas:

  1. A connected, compassionate and engaged community.
  2. A healthy and active community.
  3. A safe and secure community.
  4. A thriving and sustainable community.
  5. A trusted Township and elected officials that deliver value.

Vision:

A Welcoming, Safe, And Inclusive Rural Community For Life.

Mission:

Working together to proactively improve the well-being, safety and sustainability of South-West Oxford communities, through the delivery of high-quality, caring, accountable, and responsive services.

Values:

The Township of South-West Oxford’s 2023 to 2026 Strategic Plan was developed in collaboration with Climb Consulting Inc. Residents were invited to share their feedback through an on-line survey, and in-person at community consultation open house sessions held across the municipality. Council considered the feedback received when determining the resulting priorities and themes for their new Strategic Plan.
