Celebrating the Retirement of District Chief David Mitchell Beachville Station - Township of SWOX
It is with mixed emotions that we announce the retirement of District Chief David Mitchell after an incredible 45 and a half years of devoted service to our fire service and our community.
Chief Mitchell joined the fire service in 1980 and has spent over four decades rising through the ranks to District Chief of Beachville Station in 2022.
His leadership, professionalism, and passion for volunteerism have left a lasting impact on our organization and those who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Beyond firefighting, Chief Mitchell has contributed to our community in many ways:
- 20 years as an auxiliary OPP retiring as a Staff Seargeant
- 16 years as an associate professor in both the Fire Science and Industrial Firefighter Program
- 15 years as a HAZMAT technician and specialist for TEAM 1 Environmental
- 30 years at CAMI Automotive in Ingersoll and a Captain on CAMI's Emergency Response Team
