South-West Ingersoll Secondary Plan Public Notice
Ingersoll is growing!
We need your input to guide growth in SW Ingersoll
The Town of Ingersoll is expected to grow by 15,850 people and 3,160 jobs by 2046. After factoring out growth that can be accommodated within the existing Built-up Area and the Designated Greenfield Area, a need for additional residential and employment land was identified based on a land needs assessment. To help support this long term growth, a boundary adjustment (effective January 2021) brought 630 gross hectares of land from South-West Oxford into the Town of Ingersoll, which is the subject of this Secondary Plan study.
What is a Secondary Plan: Secondary Plans are more detailed plans for specific areas within the Town that identify land use planning, community design, transportation and municipal infrastructure needs to accommodate long term growth. The South-West Ingersoll Secondary Plan will be implemented through an Official Plan Amendment to bring the Study Area into the Town’s Urban Area to meet the 25 year land need and designate the land for future urban uses. We are looking for your input and feedback on the key issues, opportunities, guiding principles and alternative growth options for the Study Area. Two rounds of community engagement activities are planned before key decision-making points in the project. These events will provide an opportunity to get informed and share your thoughts on how Ingersoll grows. Community engagement events are scheduled for November 2022 and Spring 2023.
