The Township of South-West Oxford will be reconstructing Peggy Ave between Graydon Drive North and Graydon Drive South. The anticipated start date is approximately July 2nd, 2018 and construction is expected to be completed by August 20th, 2018. The work will involve drainage improvements, platform widening, road elevation changes, addition of curbs and sidewalks.
Residents and visitors should take precautions while driving through the construction site.
While construction is in progress the roadway will be open to local residents only, there will be traffic control staff to guide the public through the construction site, but expect delays. Some inconvenience to traffic are unavoidable due to the type of work that is going to take place. All efforts will be made to ensure that disruptions to the local residents are kept to a minimum. With the cooperation of everyone, the construction work should proceed smoothly resulting in an improved roadway for everyone to use.
Please note that compaction equipment will be used and that there will be some vibration that you may feel in your home.
It is the responsibility of the property owners to remove any owner installed items within the road allowance such as fencing sprinklers, landscaping adornments, lamp posts, etc. In the spring, of 2019, after construction is completed, the Township will plant new trees on the road allowance where suitable.
There will be detours installed and the Works Department encourages the local traffic to use the detour to avoid driving through the construction site.
