Administrative Assistant - Finance 

Reporting to the Treasurer, you will provide administrative support to the Finance and Clerks Department; including greeting the public at the front reception area and answering and directing phone inquiries, processing accounts payable, collection of taxes, assisting with the preparation of the council agenda, directing public inquiries; reconciling cash drawer; assisting customers with tax and assessment inquiries, assisting in year-end reconciliation; assisting with other billings and following up on outstanding accounts receivable. The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Community College Accounting Diploma
  • Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills for this deadline oriented position.
  • Thorough working knowledge of MS Excel and Word as well as proficiency in Laserfiche, MS Access and Great Plains/Diamond Accounting Software
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) to ensure effective interaction with a wide variety of individuals and groups including the public, staff, council and other municipalities.

The 2017 wage range is $39,712.40 to $49,631.40 based on a 35-hour work week with a comprehensive benefits package.
